Winter is still very much upon us here in Minnesota, and is likely to linger for at least another month and a half. The workshop is largely un-utilized, the road bike and stationary trainer are in front of the computer, and I have occasional pipe dreams about building a fatbike in 2014. (Not likely to happen.) My Almanzo 100 entry form was sent so I have something to keep me motivated.

As with any winter season, there’s the inevitable illnesses that come about. Eddy, my oldest son, is suffering from a bug that had him throwing up frequently, and Kate and I have it, too. Thus far, only the baby seems to have been spared the misery, for which I’m grateful.

2014 in Riding

This year, I’m obviously knocking the Almanzo 100 off my bucket list. I’m also excited about the 30 Days of Biking, and I’ll probably do the Minnesota Ironman Century as a tune-up ride three weeks before the Almanzo.

2014 in Business

I’m a little behind the curve with the marketing plan, largely due to my job hunt and the tasking of two small children in the house (this blog post is almost a week late). For example, this blog post is almost a week late. Since I had two pretty successful interviews last week, and am in the process of lining up 1-2 more for this week, I’m pretty confident something will stick on the job front soon…which means I need to buckle down and pound out a bunch of tasks.
